A Special Issue of the Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis will be published in connection with PYRO2026 with the aim of presenting a selection of the highest-quality contributions in the field of analytical and applied pyrolysis. The Special Issue will cover a broad range of topics, including thermal decomposition processes; reaction mechanisms, kinetics, and modelling; catalytic, hydro- and reactive pyrolysis; hydrothermal processes, gasification, and torrefaction; scale-up from laboratory to pilot and industrial plants; product characterisation and valorisation; polymer and plastic recycling; and pyrolysis for environmental applications as well as analytical pyrolysis applied to complex materials and cultural heritage objects. Both original research articles and review papers will be welcome.
